Why I don't offer a lot of tips and tricks

In general, most people don't turn to a therapist as their first option when they start experiencing anxiety or depression symptoms. Instead, they often search online or use AI to find "ways to calm anxiety" or "how to motivate myself to get out of bed." The internet and bookstores are filled with information on coping skills; you don't need me for that.
Therapy isn't about just coping. It's about examining your life, understanding your patterns, and being challenged by the reflections we provide. My role as a therapist is to encourage growth, not merely manage symptoms.
That doesn't mean we don't use those tools. I recognize that I'm not inventing any groundbreaking technique that most haven't already encountered. We discuss what works for you, and I always encourage people to seek out helpful tips and tricks. If I come across something valuable, I certainly share it with clients. However, I believe your time is better spent in my office discussing where you learned how to love and be loved.
